Public Test Realm going public soon!

Hello Townies!

We have been working very hard on the new front end and friends list stuff over the last couple of weeks. The code base has changed so much in that time that I barely recognize it. We will be putting up our work that we have done so far on a public test realm. This will include the new front end, new login screen and the friends list with the ability to chat with your friends. The new lobby rework to allow you to play with your friends will be coming very soon after we finish polishing what we have now, as well as the shop and customization sheet so you won't have to pick your house/char/map before every game. We hope to have the public test realm ready for everyone to try out sometime this weekend, but no promises. This first pass will be missing some functionality and maybe some artwork so make sure to be gentle with it at first

Update: 04/22 - We will be putting up the PTR tomorrow night our time (CST) as we are still waiting on some artwork that is coming in tomorrow.

Just took a look at the sneak peek image, it looks great but I have a question. Will the bigger, more stylistic wood blocks for the Login and Register buttons still be used or are those ones the permanent ones in the image?

The art is not fully done yet, as Blake mentioned in the original post. It will be polished more in the future.

It's the same game, it is just where we go if we want to test out new features that aren't live yet.

Will you be randomly choosing people for testing (I mean contest on forums...) or do you already have in mind who you are choosing to test. Or are you not allowing many people to test it.

The test realm will be completely open to the public (hence Public test realm ). You will be able to log onto it with the same username/password as the regular game. Any progress you make on the PTR will NOT be reflected on the live account and vice versa. They are completely separate.

There is myself, Blake Burns (Creative Director and COO), doing social media, marketing, programming and more.
There is Josh (CEO and CTO) doing a large majority of the programming and bug fixing.

We also have 2 contract artists that aren't on staff but we use for our artwork.

Cool, that sounds like a plan. Didn't you say that the test starts saturday? I remember reading about when it will start, but I might be mistaken.

I have no idea why I cannot edit mine, but I realize it might start Sunday... just forget the message above!
