Patch 3.3.1d Updated Ranked Rolelistx3

Hey Townies!

We want to thank you all again for testing out the latest Ranked rolelist, and all the feedback you have given! From what we have seen the Mafia might be a bit too strong in this current list. We are going to make another set of tweaks to see if it brings things more in line with what we hoped for. Check out the latest changes below:

One of the biggest issues with the previous list was that Mafia could quickly gain voting majority if the Town made 1 or 2 mistakes. We felt this didn't allow for enough skill expressions from other players if 1 or 2 of the Town fumbled. There was also the issue of the NE being a little to random, and it sometimes feeling like an Exe or Jester didn't really contribute to the Mafia as much as a Witch. With this list the guaranteed Witch should help prevent some of that swing. The Exe being in the game means that there is a sort of half to quarter extra evil. While the Exe or a jester could be detrimental the Mafia, it is generally in their benefit to cause problems for the Town. The Exe also allows for some amount of plausible deniability to why a Mafia kill did not go through as well.

While it is still not certain this will be list used, or even if the Mafia Vs Town style of list will be used for the coming Ranked season we appreciate everyone's feedback, and help gathering data.

I kinda like this because ne was swingy as witch was more useful

Thank god jesters only spawn from exes I rather that exe gets something like a new random target if they die at the night (always town) but this seems really good

Yeah this seems pretty cool for a ranked list. I'd take this or the current one as the official one.

Oh also how will this work in coven?

I actually think it might be a good idea to implement witch into coven as witch in classic isn't even unique, Probably change witches color to something more a purple pinky color. I think it would be fine anyway. As in classic witch isn't unique and it's not a game breaking change.

I think that they should just add a new Coven-exclusive NE

Rolestopper or Failed Assassin from FM might be neat additions

Why not? I feel like there should at least be some new stuff added now that Amb and Hypno are in the base game.

I rather have more classic roles then coven exclusive because coven isn't active enough outside of all any and I hate all any

Now the list seems slightly townsided. This worries me because, since the list is new, Mafia has the temporary advantage of everyone being a little confused. As the Ranked season goes on, Town will inevitably develop metas to improve their winrate, while Mafia can't develop public metas because they need to rely on unpredictability.

I actually think that the previous list (5 maf+NE) would have turned out close to fairly balanced after metas developed. (Though it did have the swing issues inherent in a random NE slot.)

this seems ok but if you could replace it with double ne or ne nb that would be better because I don't like having it outright stated there will be a witch or exe i don't like it outright stating its gonna be witch and exe so I prefer double ne

This is an improvement and i like that witch is essentially another mafia member but not quite (if that makes sense). so still makes mafia quite powerful

However, instead of the executioner being a guaranteed role why dont you change this too neutral any. I feel the game is a bit to repetitive at the minute, (Jailor meta and vfr all the time) so a bit of unpredictably would be nice. An Nk could change the game for either side with a few kills ( a last minute arsonist would be a good twist) another neutral evil such as exe or jester could make people question ti results etc, and a nb could swing the game either way deciding on who they choose to side with. Also the rare chance of vamps...

i played a game and it was not bad at all. the issue is what if exe sides with town.

I definitely think exe and jester are meh for ranked but I feel like 6 scum sided with each other is very powerful while 5 is slightly too weak so I think exe kinda has to substitute that slot.

Consigilere probably is just slightly better then framer rn.

Mafia tier list (no gf/mafi)
S: Consort/Forger/Janitor
A: Ambusher/Blackmailer
B: Hypnotist/Disguiser/Consig
C: Framer

Consort is the best mafia just such a good role tbh I always hope for one.

Framer isn't as bad but it lacks a lot and I ironically think disguiser does a better job as it effects all investigatives even if frames last longer

Like I just want to reiterate how great it is that we're running through a bunch of different role lists like this. Fantastic decision from BMG!
