Biting jailed Exe n1 says he is immune

So I was vamp from the start and n1 me and the other vamp tried to bite a person (Cave) and I got both a message saying he was jailed AND a message saying he was immune. Is this intentional? I would think it should only tell you he was jailed, right? In the screenshots he is shown as jester but he himself said he was exe before.
