Game ended early

I was playing in Lovers as WW with Pirate lover(who left game early on), and it got down to me and 4 townies and GF. I rampaged and killed sheriff and GF, and game just ended out of no where. Town victory; I did not win. But I was still alive and had a tiny chance at winning. There wasn't a sever reset or anything like that

As far as I've been concerned is this the intended behaviour, while I think it is unfair and should be fixed.

I'm sorry, I am not understanding how due to my lover leaving I am no longer a threat to the town. I could still rampage and kill them, correct?

That is possibly correct, but the game thinks you are "dead", since usually lovers die together. Because of that doesn't the game recognize you anymore as opposing.

This sure seems like a bug if the game thinks an alive player is dead
