Rip Tos, I am sad even though I mainly play other social deduction games.
I don't agree with botters but you guys should have prepared better.

How am I wrong?

Forum =/= game.

EDIT: I've been without a computer for a while. Only just logged into the game on a new fresh account from my phone. Just saw how it actually lets you login. Kinda useless at that point. Should restrict the user at the homepage and have the accounts set with a flag whether new or not, and then get them to buy the game, not login and then clicking 'Play' triggering the option.

Muh bad.

Don't worry, they're bettering the game by paying the devs. :KappaLUL:

If we are grandfathered(since We have more than 1 game), does it means that we can play the game for free forever or for limited time?

EDIT: $5 is a bit steep though for a Flash text-based game that's literally designed on the foundations Mafia. It still should be pay to play though but a bit expensive considering that $5 could also get you other games that may be better.

You are buying the "premium" version of the game, which also comes with the given perks (2000 TP, 2x mp and the skin/pet assosiated with that premium verison).

Imo there should be a choice to buy a non-premium version albeit cheaper because ppl might want to play but don't want the premium stuffs

Pretty much. Most people probably don't even care about skins. Making it the price of $2 or something without the skins should be an option. It's literally just a text game. There was a Roblox version at one point.

But BMG cares about money. Have they ever shown any gratitude towards the communtiy? The answer is no, why should they suddenly care now?
RNG is never good for any strategy based game. Please learn the definition of what that means, especially if you're one of the people constantly defending it.

So wait, the bots lead to a happy ending?

LOL thanks botters!

Also yeah $5 is more than some may like for a "flash-based text game" but the Unity update is coming sooner or later so you're really paying for that if you think about it

And if that's too much go play another free SDG and realize the experience of all of the free ones are objectively worse than the paid ones lol

I understand the necessity of this step, but share the concerns about the price being a bit steep. If the paywall only exists to prevent the bots from entering, because credit card fraud would be too bothersome to pull off, why not make the initial price lower? A 5$ purchase for a text based game, that you have no idea whether you will like or not, is amount worth considering for the majority of target demographic. Very risky move for already thinning playerbase as it is. Maybe the blow can be softened by making bot throttle pass a bit cheaper, 2$ max, and giving the ability to pay the rest if the players feel the actual need of getting the rest of the premium jingle jangle. But that's just my thoughts.

Another idea: Every paid account could let 3 accounts 'try-and-play' this means you could choose 3 ppl and they could try like 10 games. Some of you may say 'but this way if 1 bot buys an account, he can bot again'. That's not true. If you only allow 3 ppl to play 10 games, it's 4 bots per buy, which isn't much + it kind of fixes the problem with the new players that can't test it.

BE aware that you do not pay 5$ for only an account, but instead that account gets soem perks, which come along with one of the possible account upgrades (Steamlink, web premium, mobile premium), which consist of 2k TP, 2x MP and a customatisation item associated with the upgrade

That's kinda baseless because those benefits are only useful if you can play, but they are useless to anybody who only wants to play. It's a much poorer justification than the fact that the Unity update will improve QoL and justify the price tag.

I am just sad it has had to come to this. You know this isn't what they wanted or envisioned for the game. Sadly, it was the choice they had to make in order to get past the bot spamming. I am sad that there will be a lot of new players who do not get to discover ToS as I did. However, I am glad that the game will be playable to people without all the bots.

Thank you, BMG. You made a hard decision that not everyone will be happy with. We will see what the future brings!

Not banning anyone for generic sarcastic posts. The users that got banned made up ridiculous lies about using Kickstarter money for drug binders which is absurd. That kind of behavior along with personal attacks on BMG employees or staff will be instant bans from here on out.

If you want to crticisize the company, the game or development progress that’s fine just don’t turn it into personal attacks.

My 2 cents -

Web Version - If they pay $5 for everything, then everyone would play Coven, why would you play the regular when you were already forced to pay for premium?
SOLUTION: Change the price tag to $2 for what is essentially a GODFATHERED account (terminology ppls)

Every account that makes gold or above (and every subsequent league) gets a free account voucher.
This means one free account, perhaps 2, every season. This will encourage legitimate users to GET their friends in the game (because nobody likes to waste free stuff)
AND then the person with a free account will also feel obliged to give the game a real shot since someone "paid" for them to play it.

On the other hand, botters will actually have to win games in order to get free accounts. I think it's kind of funny that botters have to legitimately play if they want to abuse the system; if they game-throw, they will get farther away rather than closer. It will be extremely time-intensive to 'farm' bot accounts.

Also, will my account be grandfathered in? (JUST KIDDING, HOW MANY PEOPLE DIDN'T ACTUALLY READ THE POST!?!?!?!)

Also wondering if we should make a "completely free" game mode that doesn't require money, it will probably be spammed but when the toxic bots realize they aren't actually doing any DAMAGE, they'll probably give up. Opinions?

That can't really be done without messing up everyone who has already downloaded and bought mobile premium. If we make a paid app and remove the free app, everyone would have to pay again to download the paid app (since we have no control over the app store). Also anyone who bought Steam or Web premium wouldn't be able to play mobile for free.
