as I continue shouting, the captain has been shot, the crew has been knocked out by sleping potions, Chemist has both alerted this guy who nullified my shadow powers with a potion and chemist has also just shot me thru the door and hit my gut so now I need medical attention

Chemist hasn't shot you. That would be the still bleeding wound from where you were shot earlier.

You shoot the lock. The bullet hits the lock and deforms it, so that the keys will no longer work.
