Do NOT give rets the ability to revive a disguiser. The silly people who put that absolutely stupid idea in their ret rework thread ideas or example either do not understand the concept of why ret is an issue (which is the resurrection of a dead town member) or have not played enough games to form an informed and good opinion. They just think it looks good on paper and then start yapping away.

Why it is an absolutely AWFUL idea and should be at the bottom of your list of ideas to the fix ret are as follow:

1) Everyone knows when a disguiser IS a disguiser. Seriously, it is SO obvious, the ret would either have to be really stupid or, in the unlikely event, the disguiser dies N1. Either way, it can be avoided altogether by ret only deciding to resurrect a townie who has a proper will and was killed by mafia.

2) It is too circumstantial and dependant on a disguiser BEING in the game. Should the RM's be 2 roles that arent a disg, then ret is as OP as ever.

3) It would develop a new meta in which mafia with a disguiser would buss their own disg day 2, or day 3 (but rets usually rez N2), and then hope for a ret to rez them (which isnt practical because they'd most likely have no proper will when hung and a ret would know thats disg). Not really then WORST thing that can happen, but it is something that can easily be foiled and disg would essentially be reduced to a ret-wasting role with no other use.

4) Retris can just choose to resurrect confirmed members, making the entire change futile.



The problem with ret is that its whole mechanic is messed up with the whole resurrecting a dead townie and confirming two or MORE (meds, 2 meds there etc) people, so please, for the love of god, if you are considering making a ret rework thread idea or suggestion understand WHY ret is OP and dont throw an idea in there that will barely do any good.

Maybe in ranked or coven. But I've seen several cases were a disguiser has actually fooled people.

ranked is where the ret issue lies. Yes I've also seen disgusier fool people successfully, nothing is ALWAYS one case but for the majority of the time disguiser is obvious to point out and see.

Just wanted to say one thing: Your entire argument is about this change being situational. However, I think that adding it has no problems as long as you don't replace a real ret nerf/disg buff with it. Disguiser as it is now is probably the weakest role in the game, or at least close. This buff helps it a little while something bigger can buff it to put it on par with other mafia roles, such as consig.

If a disguiser is going to get a bigger buff, then a ret being able to revive them shouldnt be a part of it. With the eventual ret removal, nerf or change a retri being able to revive a disg is probably going to end up being futile/needless change anyway

I completely disagree with you. A good disguiser will not "appear so obvious" as you seem to make them out to be.


I would totally be in favor of a Retributionist being able to revive a Disguiser because it buffs the Disguiser, which is in of itself a better change for an already weak role. Being able to fake as a "confirmed townie" is an awesome way to deceive town. In fact, you could even use this very same excuse to discourage actual revived townies from being confirmed since you could start accusing them of being Disguiser. If it's a will that's concerning, then just blame it on a forger. It's not that hard to find excuses in this game. It's just a matter of sounding convincing.



However, on the contrary, if the Retributionist itself is nerfed or reworked (I personally want a rework) soon, then I don't think this minor change would be necessary.
But hey if the Retributionist doesn't change soon, then I would rather have this idea so that it can at least give the Retributionist soooome kind of nerf, even if it's something as minuscule as this. At the moment, the Retributionist has no drawback to doing their ability at all.
