Quite the opposite actually, Ranked is the only thing that matters. So long as the game is balanced for the competitive players, it doesn’t matter if casual players have to play in a dumpster fire.
It is true that ret is fine any mode that isn’t Ranked, but because since it isn’t fine in Ranked, it is trash and needs to leave the game entirely. The thing is, in other modes, the ret usually waits to revive an important role, but in Ranked the ret will revive a town member ASAP to confirm 2 roles, so it is more of how Ranked players utilize the mechanic, rather than the mechanic itself, kinda like most issues with Ranked.

Actually, I was speaking for myself (you might want to do the same), ranked is irrelevant for me, and, therefore, probably should be for others but I will leave that up to them to decide. The other modes are probably just as competitive, if not more so than ranked. It is for this reason that I play custom most often. We should endeavor to craft a fun playing experience for everyone in our community regardless of how often they play.

Ranked is not the only thing that matters.
This is a game that is supposed to appeal to everyone who plays it.
Ranked players are a very small minority of players who want to compete in an unbalanced environment.
The overwhelming majority of players will be found in Custom and All Any, trying to have some fun.
Therefore, ranked should not be the only source of attention for the game as a whole.
I don't know if you realize this since you seem to play ranked often, but there is literally a meme in All Any about how useless the Retributionist is because the moment they revive someone, that same person will usually die the very next day anyway.
If you don't want the Retributionist in ranked, then find a way to either rework it, or prevent it from spawning in the rolelist.

It was supposed to be a sarcastic joke about the Ranked players questioning the rets existence in the ENTIRE game, and want it removed from the ENTIRE game. Even though ret is only problematic in a highly competitive setting (known as Ranked).
Looking back it at, I did a pretty poor job of conveying the sarcasm, and made it seem far more serious than I intended. For the record, I don’t play Ranked (Because it is a dumpster fire imo)
