who really cares about chat filter if this game is not targeting people thats under 18years old
Except that the game is targeted toward people under 18. BMG is a company that wants to make as much money as possible because that is the point of a company. Because they want money, they want their playerbase to be as large as possible. A lot of kids play video games, so they got Youtubers with young fan bases to sponsor the game. That didn't go very well but the point is that by getting kids to play the game, they get more players and more money. For every "good player" who leaves, there are probably 10 casual players who start playing.
As for your main issue regarding afk'ers, I agree that afk'ing and trolling in general is a problem. BMG is doing anything they can to try to make your games less toxic. The Trial System is a main example of this. You could also join one of the many ToS discord servers that exist and play games with those players, who actually care about the game. If you see afk'ers or anyone else breaking the rules, then just report them and move on.
