Zero Escape: VLDR - Winter's Mastery (Game 0ver)

Postby Schultz128 » Fri Dec 15, 2017 3:26 pm

There are two sides to every coin.
Much like how there are two faces to every person.

Loyalty/Betrayal
Honesty/Deception
Life/Death
Morality/Mortality

Everyone will see only one of the faces of a person until they are provoked.
It will cause their faces to flip, leaving it up to chance which one will take over, much like a coin, and you're left wondering:

"I wonder...which side will it land on?"

People like this are just kidding themselves over who they truly are. Then again, aren't we all? What is there to be ashamed of?

Doesn't everybody want to be someone else?

VLDR: Winter's Mastery

-----

[Game Rules]

  1. The most important: respect your host and the other players. Please remember that this is just a game.

  2. This is a role-playing game and I, the host, will be the GM. I will facilitate everything in this game; please always follow my instructions.

  3. This game is both active and time-based. If you are unable to respond to another player's action due to your absence, then I will act on your behalf. I always try to be fair. Consider this a disclaimer: do not complain about actions I took for you. This is often better than simply letting you die because you happened to be offline.

  4. Your primary goal in this game is to escape the facility. Note that some roles may have additional goals, while others don't need to escape at all. In order to escape, you must open the Number 9 Door. You will learn how to do this as the game progresses.

  5. Once the escape door is opened, all players able to leave - meaning not unconscious or otherwise preoccupied - will escape, and the door will close. The game ends immediately afterward. In other words, opening the Number 9 Door marks the end of the game.

  6. You cannot carry more than 5 items on your person, not including hidden or undetectable items that come with a role.
    • Unless otherwise stated, every player has the ability to keep one item hidden. This item will not be found during body searches unless you are unconscious or dead.

[Player Rules]

  1. Do not, under any circumstances, discuss your role. Do not claim a role, do not list your role's abilities, and do not name your role's win conditions. This includes hinting at or "softclaiming" a role. Some roles may be obvious, but please refrain.

  2. All players will be required to send in a character description after they have received their roles. Reminder that character descriptions should exist within the realm of reality and are purely cosmetic, meaning they will not effect combat or other RNG situations. Other than that, design your character to your liking. You can even play as yourself if you wish.

  3. Do not talk about the game outside of game means. This includes talking to other players, alive or dead, or members not in the game. If you must ramble or rant, my DMs are open.
    • Dead players are not allowed to discuss the game with other dead players.

  4. Please bold all of your actions so that they are easy for me to see.

  5. Whenever you send me a message regarding the game, make sure to begin the PM subject with "VLDR", or otherwise I may not see it. Also, whenever you are in a PM chain with other players, be sure to click "Reply to all recipients" when messaging the other players. You do not have to do this for Private Messages/Actions, those should go solely to me.

  6. DO NOT JOIN THIS GAME IF YOU WON'T BE ACTIVE. We're aiming for this game to be completed within 2-3 weeks. The more active the players are, the less time it will take to complete. This game is much more fun when all players are active since the game is turn and time based.

[Phases]
Spoiler:
Discussion - Talk with other players in the thread, vote for various options, etc. Mainly used as filler between other phases.

Puzzle - Separate into groups and solve riddles with your team. Solely in PMs.

Roaming - Explore the facility, interacting with others along the way. Solely in PMs.

Ambidex Game - Choose to ally or to betray your opponents. What you choose dictates if you'll be able to escape, or if you'll be left behind...

[Roles]

There cannot be two of the same role excluding roles that copy abilities. Other than that, it's completely random. If you have any questions regarding your role or the roles of others, please feel free to message me.

To help balance the usage of firearms in the game, all roles that don't start with a firearm in their kit will be inefficient with firearms, meaning that they will never be able to kill someone with one shot unless under special circumstances (i.e shooting an unconscious player). The Maverick, Zero, and Officer roles have gained the "Firearm Proficiency" passive, which enables them to possibly kill a player in one shot. The player is still required to roll a high number for their action for this to occur.

I have also modified a couple of roles to where they differ from the versions in the VLDR Hub. A new role has also been added.

Roles Changed/Added:

  • Radical
  • Maverick
  • Zero
  • Officer
  • Tachomaniac

Postby Schultz128 » Fri Dec 15, 2017 3:27 pm

Character Descriptions:

K1llthestory - 'Lizard'

Spoiler: A smaller, weaker looking boy that couldn't be a day under 18. You'd first notice his skittish behavior. Always fiddling with something in his pocket, in his hands, anywhere. That's when the facial features began to take effect. Bright red hair that'd looked to not have been brushed in at least a weak is the most notable thing about him besides his scars. He'd have them dotting his entire body. His face, his arms, his hands, and any other exposed body part would always have a couple of pockmarks or burns covering his skin. His face is somewhat symmetrical, and he looks like he could have been good looking once upon a time if it weren't for his scars. With that said, he's got a smaller nose, small ears, and generally small facial features that compliment his small stature. He wore a ratty, ghetto looking form of what used to be jeans and a sports overcoat with a plain shirt underneath.

Nopingout - 'Renae'
Spoiler: Renae is a young woman, who looks to be as average as they come. Brown hair flows down her shoulders with brown eyes to pair. She appears to be of average height.

TeamMystic - 'Markus'

Spoiler: Markus is a male in his early twenties, standing at moderate height. He has dark brown hair and pale blue eyes. He has two small blue horns coming out the back of his head, a dark blue polo shirt, and dark jeans with black shoes. Markus was enrolled in Full Tech Academy, a college centered around learning much more in technology in every way. His behavior is rather kind at times but he tends not to care much about a lot of other things if they don't interest him.

yauaustin202 - 'Nil'

Spoiler: Nil is a slender, yet fairly muscular, male of average height with a melancholic appearance. He has fairly short, messy black hair, pale white skin, and green eyes with small slit-shaped pupils, similar to a cat's. He has distinctively thick eyebrows. He wears a black scarf and an unbuttoned black jacket with long coattails and a high collar, a white shirt with some kind of icon on it, and black, seemingly thick pants.

Multiuniverse - 'Stevie'

Spoiler: Stevie is a small ecstatic young adult of around 20. Stevie has brown messy hair and is wearing formal looking clothes. He often wears a happy, enthusiastic, and naive face. However there’s more happening inside his head than can be seen from his expression.

tardispaten - 'Alexander'

Spoiler: Alexander is a man dressed in a suit of thick armor. The armor appears to be made of gold and bronze, dressed with red robes similar to that of a monk. The figure has no face, only a helmet with glaring red slits for eyes.

Wiing - 'Gideon'

Spoiler: Gideon is a male in his early thirties of moderate height. He has spiky hair colored a dark purple. He wears black square frame glasses, a white dress coat over a red dress shirt, a black tie, black dress pants, and white dress shoes. He has very pale skin and brown eyes.

Phinerenx - 'Masuoka'

Spoiler: Masuoka is a young male in his early twenties. He wears a light blue t-shirt and a midnight blue wool shirt over it. He wears black Ampere pants and blue and white shoes. He has messy black hair and gray eyes. He's 5'3 and skinny. He usually looks tired and uninterested.

ChubbyMooshroom9 - Calvin

Spoiler: Calvin is a young man in his early twenties, standing at nearly 6 feet tall. He has black hair that reaches down to his neck. He wears a purple and gold suit with a white dress shirt underneath and black gloves to pair. He is an obvious victim of heterochromia, the condition of having two irises of different colors. His left eye is pink, while his right eye is purple. Running away from an abusive household at the age of 6, he taught himself and became a prodigious student. Living on the street was tough, and he wanted to make it a better place, so he strived to do so. Charismatic, intelligent, and always thinking ahead is what made him the man he is today.

The hatch to one of the elevators opens with a solemn hiss, frosty fog seeping out from its core. Two individuals climb up and out.

Those who have escaped may now post.

The boy crawls out with the sleeping bag from the first test, a few minutes behind the other one. He'd be smaller, weaker, and looking to not have had a good home for a couple of years. He'd fumble with his hand a bit, the one not carrying the cot, and he'd skittishly look around, nervous. His hand swivels side to side, gazing at each of the people assembled in turn before wandering off on his own. When he'd turn his back, you realize from what you thought to be dirt and grime on his face dotted his entire body. It was an array of pock marks, scars, anything that could disfigure his body did. Any further examination was lost as he walked off into the room with the magenta door.

The room is a large room, similar to a warehouse. There are 6 elevator chambers aligned on one wall next to each other, 4 of them opened. On another wall is a large metal door with the number "9" painted on it in faded paint. On another wall are three doors: one magenta, one cyan, and one yellow. On the final wall is a computer screen.

The feverish boy attempts to go into the room with the Magenta door, but finds it won't budge.

He checks the other two rooms, similarly.

"Fine."

He moves to the computer screen and pokes at it, giving careful scrutiny.

The boy grumbles something under his breath and unrolls the cot. He crawls into it and closes his eyes, uncaring of the others.

Another hatch opens and two more souls climb out. One of them is wearing an odd suit of armor.
