This thread is intended for people who don't plan to be as active or be more active for an extended period of time (days, weeks, etc.) and/or are not fully committed to leaving/returning.

My activity will decrease drastically sometime soon in the next hours. However I should still be able to check in for a bit after that is over with, and it should pick up fully not long afterwards once the sun is fully up again.

Look at the sad leavings thread and see how many people said they were gonna be not as active, rather than leaving. This thread is for that purpose.

Those people drew a lot of controversy. This thread is meant to avoid that.

Going to get my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow morning. I'm going to be recovering from that and be high off whatever they inject me with through an IV. Not sure how long, but 3 days rest is what they say. For sure I'm going to be out for at least a day.

I'm torn between calling this fun because I'm going to be so out of it or painful since they are going to be taking out 4 teeth.

Wish me luck. Might post pictures/videos.

Good luck! I hope everything goes well. I'm getting my wisdom teeth out in the morning of August 3rd. One of my friends got his out earlier this summer. Age 17 apparently seems to be the common age to get wisdom teeth out.

Oh hey. I just got mine out two days ago. Its not that bad honestly. They put you to sleep for the surgery, then you'll be sleepy a bit afterwards, but you'll be fine after that. A bit of discomfort, and you can only eat soft foods, but fine.

Oh hey. I just got mine out two days ago. Its not that bad honestly. They put you to sleep for the surgery, then you'll be sleepy a bit afterwards, but you'll be fine after that. A bit of discomfort, and you can only eat soft foods, but fine.

What a coincidence. Another person got their wisdom teeth out recently.

Being put to sleep for surgery makes me very uncomfortable. I don't like the feeling of being unaware of people operating on me.

My experience with the surgery-

Walk in, wait for 5 minutes, the doctor asks me some questions (didn't eat/didn't take medications/doesn't have allergies) and then puts an evacuated needle tube and plugs me into the IV.

"This is a narcotic, you'll be under in about 30 seconds"

10th second - I feel nothing
20th second - I feel half of my body start to feel heavy (coronal bottom half of me lying down). Doctor puts some nodicane at strategic points in my mouth. Now I'm mouth numb.
27th second - My entire body is heavy. Not sure if numb. Starting to not see straight AKA room is starting to look more and more vague.
30th second - My eyes take a vacation. I can't think on anything- oh the bliss.
31th second - "Oh, were done"

I do not know the point at which I went under, but I knew when I was awake. My mouth wasn't sore, I was numb (still numb as of now) and I had trouble concentrating. I couldn't walk straight, I had less control over what I responded (though to my surprise I still had control at all), and I had two ice bags strapped to my cheeks.

Now, about 3 hours later, I took a nap and now have enough concentrations to type this, have little but some trouble with my gait.


It's a different experience, but I'd say it was more pleasant then rough. Learning what it feels like to be under anesthetic was cool.

Don't forget the blood dripping out of your mouth for the first day. Yep, not that bad. I went in nervous, but it's all good.

You don't feel anything when put to sleep and it feels very quick. The fact that I won't be aware exactly what they're doing bothers me.

When I was younger, I always worried that the surgeon would mix up the anesthesia that I'm supposed to get (I've been put to sleep before) with the one to permanently put a pet out of its misery.
