I only heard about it recently, saw some vids about it. People say it's more complex and that people actually know how to play good there. Is it worth buying? Is the game even active right now or it's dead. Since all of the videos of gameplay are like 1 year ago.

Not sure how alive it is, but it's certainly possible to find games. And, yes it's a lot more complicated. Whether people are any good depends on the people you play with.

Throne of Lies is a competitor for BMG, and they've been touchy in the past about discussion about it. One thread on it back when the game was made was removed, but since this hasn't yet the mods might be more relaxed. Especially since there's been some internal drama/conflict from what I've heard with ToL. In general it's best not to advertise competitors.
