I think this most recent game was custom, but I find trouble with it in pretty much every mode (not coven). Care to share general guidelines said strats have in common?
The only claims I can think of are survivor and executioner, which town are willing to lynch anyway.
The only reason mafia wouldn't call out defense if there is a witch, but it's usually obvious whether there is witch by D2.
After looking through every role, I realized I can claim BG!? If that's my only option, though, I'm going to get hung plenty still.

Staying under the radar because if you’re too overt the neutral killing quickly becomes everyone’s number one enemy.
Especially as Arsonist, if people don’t know you exist you might be able to douse everyone in time to win.

2) Mafia calls me out for defense
I could be absolutely crushing a game, getting 2-3 critical kills every night, and I kill mafia so they can't just lynch vote me, but when I do, their will just calls me out! How do I defend against this?
Or is it more of a balance issue?
