Role Name:The Surgeon

Role Alignment:Mafia(Support)

Summary:A doctor with violent tendencies who injures enemies of the mafia.


Attributes:Visit a Target and stop all their defense the following night, they will be notified when this happens.(Can do so 3 times.)


Goal: Eliminate all that will not submit to the Mafia.


Explanation (In case you're confused):Each night you can visit a player, at the end of the night they will be notified that they were operated on by a surgeon. The next day and night they will have no defense, allowing mafiosos and godfather's to eliminate them easier in case of them having defense. If a doctor targets the same person, your ability will fail and still be used. While the visit isn't a roleblock, the next night the target cannot act(Vets can alert, Docs can heal or self-heal) but can be protected by another player, such as a BG and being Witched will force them to use ability, but die due to over exertion of their wounds.


Special Attributes:Target cannot act on a night that they are recovering.


Additional Information: Visiting the same target as a doctor will cancel and still use your charge, but you will know the doctors identity (no vice versa here)

Operating on a Werewolf the night before full moon will NOT stop them from rampaging in their own home, but they won't seek others.

Operating on Serial Killers does not lead to your death. However operating on an Arsonist will douse you. Operating on Pestilence kills you. Operating on a max Juggernaut kills you. Injured pirates cannot target for a duel during the next day.

Consigliere: Your target is a doctor working for your Godfather, they must be a Surgeon!
Injured(Victim) You were operated on by a surgeon, your defense has been nullified!
Injured(Surgeon) You successfully operated on your target!
Cancelled (Surgeon):A doctor stopped your Operation! The Doctor was (NAME)!
Overexertion (Being forced into your night ability while injured):You died from overexertion from your wounds!
Towns death message:They died from overexerting while mortally wounded.

Lore:The Surgeon was once one of your every day doctors, helping keep the town in healthy condition amongst all the crime. One day he found himself surrounded by members of the mafia. While frightened, he kept working, afraid of what might happen if he stopped. After the operation the Mafioso walked to the patient and checked if they were OK. After confirming it, he called to the Consigliere to get the Godfather to the scene. The Surgeon was terrified but intrigued. When the Godfather arrived and saw the living and recovering patient he laughed and told the Surgeon that the work was flawless. Flattered but confused the Surgeon asked what was happening. The Godfather simply said that the surgeon was being offered a spot with the mafia, pointing out the constant blame to doctors and false accusations against them. He joined unconditionally.

What if you are in a game with no immune roles & no doctors?

Would this role do absolutely nothing?

I've been thinking about making this also work as a doctor if you select a mafia member.

I can already see people saying that the mafia should not be able to directly kill Immune targets, also the whole unable to act thing makes it appear to be like a buffed but delayed Consort especially considering that Roleblock Immunes and Roleblock Killers can nothing to this role when it comes their way.

It also provides unnecessary nerfs to the neutrals which already have it hard as it is. (I stated this at the beginning of this post)
