The bullet fires and manages to hit close to the serpent's eye. It's not a direct hit, but the monster drops the crew member. He crashes down on the deck and moans in pain.

You step out from your hiding space and run to the injured crewmember. You grab him by the arms only to find his left is dislocated. He stops you, reaching his right hand up and shoots at the monster. He hits the monster near its eye. It shakes its head again. He relents and let's you take him. Ignoring his pained cries, you begin dragging him to your hiding place. The monster spots you. Call a flip, heads or tails?

The other four crewmember take shots at the beast. All but one miss. The serpent is blinded in its right eye.
