I missed now twice the ranked mode init moment, since when it said I'd have to wait 4 minutes I started browsing other stuff, only to miss the moment I was supposed to click play by seconds...
Please have a Ping-Ping-Ping audio count down going 3 seconds before I have 10 seconds or so to click start to feedback I'm still there.
I'll second this. It's a simple usability thing, but critically important if the timer's going to have this much variability. You don't want to miss your chance after sitting around waiting.
I actually just made a thread about this too, before seeing this one.
OP went like this Spoiler:It takes 5-2 minutes whenever you need to que up for ranked. To pass the time while I wait, I click of the page and go do something else online. For example I'm waiting to get into ranked right now, so I'm typing this post to pass the time.
If you add a sound for when the timer ends and you get the "Yes or No" option, then the player can realize that its ready and go to page. Right now, since there is none, I could just overestimate the time and miss the opportunity. Happened to me once already.
An up vote on this from me. I was about to make a thread about this because it is pretty much a fundamental feature for timer queues. I've only been able to play 2 ranked games so far since it went on beta and that is because I either forget about the timer or there isn't enough people to put in a match. I figured what if other people in the queue also forgot to check the timer while doing other things while waiting. Although not many people use the PTR, having a sound alert at the 10 second mark would raise the chances of being placed in a match since more people would know that it is time to accept the match.
