[GAME] Why does the PTR say 'Disconnected'?

A lot of users are complaining of the PTR saying 'Disconnected' and not knowing why this is.

The reason is because the PTR and the live version of the game are two separate things. Stuff you own in the live version isn't transferred over to the PTR, except for account login information.

The PTR and live versions both keep your login information the same, but they do not sync any changes to account information from the live version to the PTR version, and in this way, they are separate.

If you change your password on the live version, the PTR will try to sign you in with your new login from live, but will result in the 'Disconnected' message. The lack of a sync is the reason for this.


Things to note;
  • Changing your password back should fix this issue, but isn't guaranteed.
  • The only way the PTR can be synced is if the PTR version's user database is manually synced by the developers to the live version's user database, updating each user's login information for them to login to PTR.

My girlfriend is having this issue and no matter what we try it doesn't work, we even tried making alts for her to use but those won't allow her to play coven.

THey are two separate databases, making new accounts won't work.
I have mostly rescinded my role as Admin.

All previous contact should instead be redirected to Flavorable.
