Do:
- Make sure that you can host
If you're going to be busy and you know this, don't host. Your players deserve a host that cares as much as they do. - Talk with your overseeing mod
A lot of hosts don't know every role interaction, so make sure you don't mess up and check with the mod overseeing your game. They know a lot more about these roles than you. - Prepare pregame
Before your game starts, make sure you're ready. Write flavor, put RCs in PM drafts, whatever you need to do to get the game going.
Don't:
- Mess with mod logs
That is how to get a GMod angry at you. - Lock other people's threads
That is how to get an FM Mod angry at you. - Leave stuff for last-minute
This is the hosting equivalent of circlejerking until EoD. Once you realize you have stuff to do you'll have barely any time to do it, which results in a poor result.
