Patch 2.2.1 Hotfix and Prep for Future Content

Hey Townies,

Today we are going be pushing a patch that has a few small changes in it that should help to prevent some abuse of the game, and add support for future things. Check out everything being changed below.


Preparing for future content!

We are adding support for the Kickstarter items so that when the codes are sent out all of our backers will be able to use the new items. We want to thank everyone who backed us during our Kickstarter and hope you enjoy all the new items!

We are also adding support for Trial System rewards, such as a new Judge skin, and Juror and Judge lobby icons. We will explain how to get these rewards at a later time.


Game Play Changes!

We are raising the player limit needed to start a game in Custom and Rapid game modes to 7 from 2 to match all other game modes. This change is being made to help prevent abuse cases where people were farming games, and achievements to top the leader boards. One user in particular was topping several charts thousands of games ahead of other users. This player's stats have been stripped. We are open to the idea that there may be fun game modes that can be played with less players, and we don't want to limit those modes if we don't have to. Bug Fixes!

Fixed a bug that didn't cause Custom and Rapid game modes to have scaling Merit Point rewards based on game length. This applies to Coven Custom as well.
Fixed a bug with two bundles that was causing them to not grant all the items that they contained. We have retroactively fixed this for users affected and they should now have all the items.

I would not like this to happen, maybe you could mak a specific lobby for smaller games, that wouldnt count? But this is for CUSTOM, custom is meant to be a creative game mode, why are you limiting a creative concept?

Wait for the codes, is that backers/supporters from other games being kickstarted? or just town of salem itself.... I'm confused. Who's kickstarter codes grants rewards where? and for what kickstart project do they support to get those said rewards? is it too late?

BlankMediaGames held a Kickstarter for their new card game which ran from November 20th until December 22nd of 2017. People who had pledged $25 USD or more to that Kickstarter will start receiving codes in their emails. They can enter these codes into Town of Salem's in-game shop to redeem the prizes.

If you did not pledge $25 USD or more to the Kickstarter, the only way to obtain a code would be to obtain it from someone who did pledge. For example, those who had pledged $45 USD or more will receive two codes - meaning they could give away the extra code.
