The Legacy season ranked rewards are now out! Depending on what your Elo was you will be getting a special lobby icon that will be exclusive to this season of ranked. Check out the brackets below!


0-999 Elo Bronze


1000-1399 Elo Silver


1400-1599 Elo Gold


1600-1799 Elo Platinum


1800-1999 Elo Diamond


2000+ Elo Master


We are working to get some changes we have planned for Spy, and some tweaks to the ranked role list in currently. We will let those sit on live for a bit to see how they do, and then we will be starting Ranked Season 1 officially! There is not a set date on this just yet though.

Shouldn't the Spychange be firstly available on PTR before hitting live?
The icons are looking quite good, platinum and silver are lookign rather similar, while the Diamond one looks the most beautyful imo~

Too bad the server had to restart because I was in a game I would of for sure won, town knew all the evils in a Classic game and just had last mafioso to lynch. XD It's okay.

I'm intrested to see the Spy change- I personally liked the old spy change but I'm sure the new update will be good. Also, by chance do you happen to know when Ranked Season 2 will be coming out? I missed most of Season 1, it was when I wasn't too into the game, and now I am so I'm kind of sad I missed it.

This announcement is nothing short of appalling, you are obviously just the spokesperson only so whoever brought up these ideas needs to be held accountable at BMG (fired)

• 1) You are rewarding people that ended at lower Elo than the initial Elo. If people get straight D's and F's do they graduate?
  
• 2) You are rewarding people based on Elo categories that have absolutely no meaning. The difference between a player at 1300 and 1400 or even 1399 and 1400 is insignificant and you have no system to show the significance of it.
  Example: certain games use leagues/ranks to categorize players based on some criteria, league of legends forces you to win a certain number of games to go from one league to another and if you can't do that you will remain stuck there no matter what. Other games use statistics to show a difference between numbers they throw out, World of warcraft uses this system but they point out exactly what the difference is in the numbers. A player at 2000 Elo is at the top 1% of the region where as a player at 1999 is not.
  
  With the way the elo system worked, anyone could have potentially gotten 2k+ elo if they actually wanted/tried unless they were unable to type. Thus you would have an unlimited number of players above 2k Elo making 2k Elo have zero meaning, which seems to be your most prestigious Elo rating? ( /guffaw)
  
• 3) You are rewarding players with something that they don't even care about. I personally wouldn't even care if you gave me a skin or a pet or a house, because it would influence gameplay since people would see what rank i am in and it would skew decisions in many games, in a game where you need to have no bias at D1. But this is only my opinion and im sure many others would love this.
  
• 4) You just announced that you have planned changes for Spy, this is mind-boggling because you've spent so many resources on this role over the last 5 months and you've only regressed, when anyone that takes this game remotely seriously will tell you to do something about retributionist and how the role works.

Here's my advice - take it from someone that has played games for more than a decade at a competitive level. Go back to the person that came up with this dung, ask them to quit watching seinfeld reruns while he should be doing actual work and to come up with a better idea on how to properly rewards players of this game, maybe even take the advice in this thread.

Go back to the drawing board and spend a week thinking on how to fix the one role that actually needs drastic changes before you begin your "season 1". Yes retributionist, make it do something like you take on the role of a dead townie at night (3 charges). Alleviates n1 jailor deaths, reduces the number of proven townies once you resurrect on d2, makes the role actually be fun to play and calls for strategic play, and best of all makes people not go on their myspace profile waiting for the game to end.

If you do even a fraction of anything that was suggested above I can guarantee you the number of people that go out and tell their friends about this flash game will increase ten-fold. You might even get paid more.

my Elo is 1191 and i dont have a new lobby icon

In fact, the lobby icon selection thing is bugged. When clicking to change it, nothing shows up and then you have to click one of the ? items on the avatar pictures (Like the house etc) and then close that out for the icons to show up. When they do, nothing new is there.

I suggest you retry on the browser, the icon should be visible there.

The lobby icon was a terrible reward I expected something better, they could've made up new skins/houses/pets as a reward for those players I honestly don't think players would care about these rewards, I have been playing this week and I haven't seen players changing their lobby icons either, they don't really care.

No offense to BMG, but I think they need to implement these changes because all of this wait just for these rewards are not worth it IMO.

I can come up with 10 things better than this. Ranked players are here to play ranked (and occasionally other game modes) and right now there is literally no way of seeing someone's "lobby icon" in ranked so literally what's the point of designing this reward for "ranked players"???

If creating character skins/pets/houses is too time-consuming, what about a possible alteration to in-game/loading screen names such as unique tags or even colours? or those gold town points we can spend on actual good skins?

I don't think you understand, if i speak to every player in the top 100 elo they will all give me the same response... read the ones above

Once again i understand this is a free to play game etc. and we appreciate the effort you put into these lobby icons (they rlly don't look too bad) but... they're literally POINTLESS to me and most of the people i play with... The only way id suggest fixing this is making it such that the "lobby icons" are now visible in ranked games.. that could work

Maybe you could do something similar to League of Legends where they can "flash their mastery symbol", perhaps you can change it such that players can "flash their lobby icon" in game, e.g. when they make a good play or when they get lynched.

Also spellchecker i think that is because a lot of people don't read the forums and we haven't got a server message yet on TOS about the lobby icons.

I honestly think its fine, i personally like the jester icon the best...but id use one of these unique icons if i could, lol i guess i need to ask when is the next tournament things going to be? I play ranked practice a ton but i never play the ranked because idk if there is a tournament up or not so i think its useless to play.

How is it fine? What ottie is saying is, how is this even considered a "reward" if EVERYONE gets something... it's like the last year or so we've played ranked means nothing and we're starting all over again!
