Introducing the Vampire and Vampire Hunter!

Hello Townies,

We have 2 new roles coming soon (early November).

Vampire - Neutral Chaos
Vampires are a new faction that wants to bite or kill all Town, Mafia, Arsonists, SerialKillers and Werewolves.
If a role without night immunity is bitten by a Vampire, that role will turn into a Vampire(Night immunity prevents a role from being turned, WW are immune to Vampires even on odd nights because they are now always immune).
Vampires can talk at night with other Vampires (like Mafia)
The Vampire Hunter can hear Vampires talk at night.
Vampires know who the other Vampires are.
After a user has been turned into a Vampire the Vampires must wait a day to claim another victim.
Vampires vote as a group to determine who they should bite. If there is a tie a player will be randomly chosen among the tie.
The youngest Vampire is always the one who visits their target (and thus potentially dying to a Veteran/Vampire Hunter)
If the youngest Vampire is roleblocked, or Jailed, then the Vampires will not be able to turn anyone that night.
If the game starts with more than one Vampire, one is chosen at random to be the youngest.
If a Vampire visits a Vampire Hunter the Vampire will be staked in the heart and die.
Mafia are immune to Vampires.
Witch is immune to Vampires.
Vampires are not night immune.


Vampire Hunter - Town Killing
Vampire Hunters exist as the Town counter to Vampires.
A Vampire Hunter cannot exist without a Vampire on the role list.
Vampire Hunters will visit players at night and if that player is a Vampire the Vampire Hunter will stake them in the heart, killing them.
If a Vampire tries to bite a Vampire Hunter at night, the Vampire Hunter will stake them in the heart.
If all the Vampires are killed the Vampire Hunter will become a Vigilante with one bullet.(They will not turn back if an Amnesiac remembers they are a Vampire)



Game Play Changes
The Vampires introduce an entirely new dynamic to Town of Salem. Someone that has been confirmed as a Town member can now be converted into an opposing faction against the Town. That player can then still pretend to be their original role while they are actually playing to win with their Vampire teammates. It introduces a whole new layer of deceit to the game!

Public Test Realm
These roles are in testing on the PTR right now. Go try them out, and give us your feedback.

Oh fuck me. Regardless of my dislike of the Vamp in general, I can't believe you did the "Spy can read night chat". Again. Fucking seriously?

Personally, I hate the idea of conversion roles. They mess up the game way too much and make people confused on everything, and overall changes how the game plays. Also, a role that counters a certain role... That goes against their own rules.
Actually, I like how Vampire Hunters counter Vampires.
Also, if spy weren't able to hear Mafia chat, would they still hear Vampire chat?

Omg finally, this role has been long anticipated for a very long time. I'm not sure how your going to organize how spy with interpret vampire chat.

ULTIMATE STRATEGY SO EVERYONE BUT MAFIA AND VAMPIRE HUNTER GETS A WIN!!!!!!
Let the Vampires do their stuff. The Mafia will probably kill, but let the Vampires do their thing for the town! You become them, and after a long time, they will get majority!
Lynch Mafia as a kill to stop stalemates too.

One Vampire Hunter would propose a severe problem to all vampires, so I'll be curious as to know how the vampires would work their way around multiple ones.

Vampire Hunters are a role that specifically tries to kill a Vampire each night and also will kill a Vampire if it attempts to convert the VH. Vampires can only convert at best, once every 2 nights. Additionally Mafia are immune to Vampires.

What makes you think they are going to have a 99 percent win rate?

In just about any game of Mafia you'll ever play, Cult-like roles are incredibly unbalanced. Too much in their favour, and they steal the game every time because Town can't lynch fast enough. Too little in their favour, and they turn out to be useless. The random nature of the rolelist makes Neutral slots incredibly swingy, especially if it's in a rolelist not even designed around Vampire, like most rolelists would be.

Can Vampire roll in Any slots? If so, then game dynamics will majorly shift between games, by introducing an entirely new informed minority. Vampire will not work.

nice concept but I would like to see another anti Vampire role aka the Werewolf

I think it would be a nice concept if a Vampire dies on the full moon if they attack a Werewolf and that Werewolf's can't become Vampires but can die if attacked when it's not the full moon

also I know it's to even out the Werewolf role so they can win more often, but what planet has a full moon every two days

they can convert the entire town, so the entire town should vote with the vampire once the vampire hunter dies, if even there is one

there is little incentive for the town (other than the vampire hunter, if there even is one) to actually lynch vampires

pretty much now the town wincon has changed to "lynch every criminal and evildoer" to "lynch every criminal and evildoer, or get converted to a vampire and lynch every mafia / night immune neutral"

since there is no endgaming, once the vampire hunter dies or there is confirmed not to be one the town should just hunt mafia / night immune neutrals while the vampires convert the rest of the town and win
